Forward
I’ve decided that we need a news letter to keep the [very few | almost none | practically zip] fans up-to-date with exactly whats going on with Round Phoenix and its members. Since we aren’t fast-paced enough for Twitter, I decided to start a monthly news letter. Members will be free to contribute to this and the public is welcomed – even encouraged – to comment or ask questions. The news letters will appear in our news feed and I’ll get around to placing a dedicated newsletter widget on the sidebar when I get sound to it (Not never, I promise). So without further ado, here we go.
Recruitment
Okay, I know I’ve been pushing this a lot recently but we have only 1 full-time member (me), one contributing member (Bradley) and one guy who’s post-produced a few graphics for me and says he is working on “something for Youtube” (he actually didn’t want me to mention him at all). Essentially Round Phoenix has a staff of 1.5 so if you have something to contribute talent-wise and are prepared to work for nothing more than glory – and a credit in the game/software or help file – then please mail a sample of your work and a brief motivator to Round Phoenix. If you have no talents in any field relating to software then donations are always welcome (There’s a Paypal donation button on the bottom of the right-hand sidebar).
Awesome New Image Viewer To Be Launched Soon
We’re in the final stages of the image viewer we’ve been working so hard on. Most of it’s complete and the evil voices of temptation are whispering to me to release the beta but I promised myself I’d finish all the coding first, have Bradley thoroughly test it on as many machines as possible first so that Round Phoenix could release its first truly complete and stable product rather than releasing a million 0.xx versions. Hopefully it’ll be done with by mid-March or the the beginning of April at the latest.
Jason Takes The Gold
Recently ADG held a coding contest to commemorate their 1st year anniversary. The objective was simple yet complicated: Using only native DBPro or AGK commands and no external media, render “A Scene Of Epic Destruction”. Entries were judged by the end result, originality, cleverness of code and overall neatness of code. There was some really strong competition and when they announced me the winner, I just about fell off my bed. Winning was a great thing not just for me but for Round Phoenix as well. The prizes will greatly help us in reaching our goals. You can read more about this on my profile page.
A Call For Public Support – Give Us Some Feedback Or Spread The Word
We’re a very small brand and we can’t afford to advertise. We don’t have a massive team to do market research either. We make no income as yet from our software. I urge you, please take five minutes to leave a comment about a product. We’ll take compliments, comments and constructive criticisms. If you don’t have the time to leave a comment or perhaps you don’t know what to say, post a link to your favourite software’s page on Facebook or other social networking sites. Your referrals make a big difference to us.
Site Overhaul
The site has undergone a few changes since its inception, most notably the theme change a while back. However, more importantly is the layout. After much internal debate with myself and a lot of tweaking of minor details, I’m more or less happy with things for now. Recent additions include a “Profiles” section containing basic bio’s on Round Phoenix members in addition to a little about Round Phoenix itself and a much-needed donations page. Aside from that, it’s been mainly a lot of widget shuffling.
A Quick Wrap Up
Well that’s about all for now. We’ve come a fair way but we’ve got a long way to go. If you’d like to receive email notifications of each post, don’t forget to subscribe to the site (Click the “Follow” button). Subscriptions are 100% free and we won’t send you spam or any advertising apart from our products.
Thanks for reading and we appreciate all your support,
- Jason McMaster
